The movie is by no means historical, nor was it made to be. It is obvious that this movie was made to make money by entertaining. It sets up a very clear good vs. evil scenario that allows you to really root for the good guys. When the Spartans achieve anything you really are excited for them. However, the only historical basis of this movie is the scenario; meaning all the reviews about how inaccurate the movie is, missed the purpose of this movie. This is NOT about Persia. Its not even about Spartans. Its about good versus evil. And in this made up senario (yes the battle is from real history) Persians are black demons and Spartans are Terminators. So once again lets get this strait: its not a history movie. note: if your persian, and easily offended about your heritage dont see this. you will not be able to seperate the fact that this is a movie, and that this is not about you. (and grow up) It has exceptional visuals, not necessarily because they are extremely realistic, but because of how stylized they are. Everything about this movie is over the top testosterone. Movie Mom/Dad: it is very gory, which Im sure you know. but what is not advertised is a serious of very provocative scenes including nudity and sexual content. Its not really pertinent to the movie but its also not distasteful. Its mainly just uncomfortable around some people. Overall this is a must see movie. You will walk away with a very enjoyable experience from a heart thumping ride. (and all the people that rated this movie SOLELY on the fact its not historical, i ranked your comments as not helpful to push them further back so people dont have to read your garbage)
