Filmed in 60 days.. 1 year of special fx editing.. - 300 Reviews
Yes, it is true. This superbly casted and directed movie has been completed in a matter of days. And to address people confused with their Greek history, this movie has never claimed to be historically correct as many have and will argue. 300 is loosely based upon the actual war between Persians and Greeks. But, seeing it has been adapted from a comic book by Frank Miller, what can we possibly expect? We must admit, history is boring as it is. And plus, the trailer already proves it is a strict action thriller, a cliche story about an army against uneven odds.
I would like to add it revolves a lot around the phrase, " all is fair in love and war" for you will experience that yourself as unequal treatment and betrayals will occur. What drew me into this movie would have to be its special effects, and as most of you know, it has been the talk of the town for quite some time now. Many people have been asking, "Is it like Sin City?" Thankfully, no. You will not have to sit through a poorly conceived movie with conflicting graphics.
Even through the chaos and seemingly imbalance of the war scenes, the director of photography has achieved a sense of unity using clever color schemes as well as the 1/3 photograph treatment through all portions of the movie. Do not let the short amount of time it took to produce movie fool you, we have in our hands an excellent movie that has expertly used various advertising maneuvers to exploit the movie for what it really is, an instant classic. We should begin putting our bets on Zack Snyder.
